The first day of the opening, expect people to dress up ANYWHERE the movie is showing. If you can score tickets to major theaters like Regal Union Square, or Lowes in Times Square, especially the MIDNIGHT showing (the first show of the opening day), you will get to mingle with super fans!!! Have fun guys!

Hi again, Nice to see your post Karin. Will you both be dressed as well? It's quite a sight to see that line. I saw The Phantom Menance premier there and the day of the movie there are long lines already. It's fun and light hearted-something a Magnum photographer (unless Erwitt) is not used to seeing. Oh a nice touch about the Ziegfeld is that you get a reserved seat. Have fun! David

thanks for your tipps, yes its me - the girlfriend - and i am very much prepared to queue up at the ziegfield in a crowd of vaders, lukes, boba fets, leas and jodas :)

You can try the Ziegfeld- Star Wars movies usually premier thare and there are ALWAYS people dressed up. Just make sure the guards don't think your camera does video :-) Cheers! David

I am not a fan of star wars too..but take your camera to this cinema...you will get great pictures from a galaxy far..far away.... be prepared to stay a long time waiting to see this...there will be a lot of people in all cinemas... BTW..The last shots are great..

Star Wars Episode III premiere in NYC for my girlfriend?

My girlfriend Karin will come to visit me in New York on May 15th. She called me yesterday to tell me - full of excitment - that she just noticed "Star Wars Episode III" will be in cinemas from on May 19th... Well to be honest I am no fan of Star Wars, never realy watched it. However my girlfriend is a bif Star Wars fan and she asked me to find a cool cinema in New York to watch it.

My questions to all New Yorkers: Would anybody point out a good cinema in the NYC area to me? Karin would like to see the movie in a cinema to which people come dressed up as some Star Wars characters for the premiere. Real Star Wars freaks... Does someone know if such an event will take place? Thanks in advance!
